Upcoming Festivals and Events

From April through November, the Camden Children's Garden hosts family festivals on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month, offering additional activities and crafts related to the festival theme. Standard admission rates apply.  Some crafts have a modest fee for materials (i.e. pumpkin painting).

Additional events, including Brunch with Bunny and Brunch with Santa, are offered during the year.  See details below for price.

March 29th: Opening Day Celebration!!!

Help us kick off our fun filled 15th Season! Camden Children’s Garden Opening Day Celebration is sure to be a blast. Join us as we open new exhibits and debut our new activity station carts. Visit with our mascot friends and our partners from the Garden State Discovery Museum.

Don’t be late for this very important date or you’ll miss Tea in the Alice in Wonderland Garden with the Mad Hatter. Enjoy celebration themed refreshments and more! Celebrate with a Special Garden Admission: Only $1.50 per guest in honor of our 15th Season.  Gates Open at 10am - Activities & Ceremony: 12 Noon to 4pm.

 

April 5th: Daisies “Flower Garden” Girl Scout Festival

Connect with other troops of Daisies and celebrate the wonders of gardening!  Daisy Girl Scouts will plant a flowering plant to take home, learn what plants need to survive, explore pollination in the Butterfly House, and meet the creepy crawly creatures that turn garbage into soil. Each Girl Scout Festival begins and ends with a ceremony and makes time for lunch and rides.  Reservations are required. Cost is $12.00 per Girl Scout (includes 2 ride tokens and one fun patch). Event Runs: 9:30am to 1:30pm

April 12th & 13th: Dino Day & Bug Bonanza

Celebrate dinosaurs and insects while digging for fossils in our popular Dino Garden. This festival includes educational activities, a fun planting activity, and themed crafts.  Part of Camden Children’s Garden Second & Fourth Weekend Series, held 1:00-4:00pm.

 

April 19th: Brunch with Bunny

Hop on over to the Garden for a buffet brunch with the Easter Bunny catered by Tortilla Press! Children's tickets include: catered brunch, Garden admission, Easter Egg Hunt, printed picture with the Easter bunny, crafts & a ride on the Garden Carousel. April 26th & 27th: Earth & Arbor Day

Celebrate Earth Day amid the beauty of 4.5-acres of children's themed gardens and the Philadelphia Eagles Four Seasons Butterfly House.  This festival includes planting activities, crafts and educational activities to learn about and to help celebrate Mother Earth. Part of Camden Children’s Garden Second & Fourth Weekend Series, held 1:00-4:00pm.

 

May 10th & 11th: Beautiful Butterflies, Birds & Cinco de Mayo

From crawling caterpillars and fluttering butterflies to lovely local birds, celebrate the Garden's most beautiful and important inhabitants. Learn about the live butterflies inside the Philadelphia Eagles Four Seasons Butterfly House. Celebrate the return of Monarchs from Mexico and the Mexican traditional holiday Cinco de Mayo. This event includes crafts, and a colorful cultural celebration.  Part of Camden Children’s Garden Second & Fourth Weekend Series, held 1:00-4:00pm.

 

May 24th & 25th: Fit & Fun

The Camden Children’s Garden wants you to be healthy! This festival will highlight easy and fun ideas for a healthy lifestyle, with a focus on simple physical activities and nutritious eating. Join us for crafts, a veggie make-n-take planting activity and educational activities that support healthy living.  Check out the concession stand. Part of Camden Children’s Garden Second & Fourth Weekend Series, held 1:00-4:00pm.

June 14th & 15th: Strawberry Surprise & Art in Nature Festival

This is a celebration of one of summer’s sweetest fruits with a special twist to honor Mum Bear, the Garden’s mascot, on her 7th birthday. This event will include nature crafts and a planting activity. Master the Art of Origami with a special presentation from Art Aware! Part of Camden Children’s Garden Second & Fourth Weekend Series, held 1:00-4:00pm.

 

June 28th: Festival de Aibonito, Puerto Rico Festival

Enjoy the beauty of tropical plants inside the Plaza de Aibonito, Puerto Rico. This colorful cultural celebration includes Hispanic arts and crafts, games, Puerto Rican activities and delicious tropical fruit. Enjoy Live Music & Entertainment in the Piney Woods Amphitheatre! July 12th & 13th: BlueBeary Blast & Celebrate NJ Festival

Join Mum Bear and Garden staff for crafts, celebrating this delicious and nutritious fruit as well as the great state of New Jersey. Families can get their fill of NJ’s official State Fruit at the Very Berry Blueberry Stand. The Piney Woods Amphitheater Presents: Pemberton Historic Trust. Discover New Jersey's History through this interactive presentation that features hands on activities and trivia! Part of Camden Children’s Garden Second & Fourth Weekend Series, held 1:00-4:00pm.

 

July 26th & 27th: Storybook Festival

The Storybook Gardens come alive inside the many fairytale-themed exhibits at the Camden Children’s Garden. Join us for book crafts and of course a reading of children’s classics. Visit the Giant’s Garden and plant your own magic beans to take home. On Saturday, July 26th Meet PBS' Super WHY and Super Reader Princess Pea!! Don't miss a very special Storybook Performance in our Piney Woods Amphitheater by the Garden State Discovery Museum's Discovery Theater Troop at 2pm (Saturday, July 26, 2014 ONLY).

August 9th & 10th: Peach, Pirate, & Princess Festival

Join the party for NJ’s favorite summer fruit with crafts, a planting activity, and a treasure hunt. Children are encouraged to dress in their favorite Princess or Pirate costume and join us for some themed crafts.  Enjoy Jersey Peaches and peach products at the Peach Stand.  The Piney Woods Amphitheater Presents: "Snow White" by Discovery Theater. August 23rd & 24th: Chocolate & Vanilla Festival

A delicious daytime event dedicated to two of nature’s most flavorful plants. Vote for you favorite ice cream flavor, and take a tropical smell test.  Join us for crafts, educational activities, and our Flavors of the Forest Stand.  Enjoy chocolate and vanilla treats as you learn about these tropical flavors. The Piney Woods Amphitheater Presents: Pemberton Historic Trust. Be a scientist for a day and learn about Natural Remedies & Natural Medicine through this interactive fun filled presentation! September 13th & 14th: Hefty Harvest & Scary Scarecrows Festival

The Garden’s annual celebration of the bountiful harvest includes games, crafts and more. For a small fee, you can make your own full-sized scarecrow to take home (while supplies last). Bring your Bounty and display a plate of vegetables from your garden. The Bountiful Harvest concession stand will feature the rich fall flavors of pumpkin, cranberries and apples. The Piney Woods Amphitheater Presents: "Cinderella" by Discovery Theater. Special Performance at 2pm. September 27th  & 28th: Faeries & Wizards Festival

Celebrate these magical creatures with games, crafts and more. Children will make their own wizard hat or fairy wings. Children also make fairy wands and their own fairy garden to take home.  Come to the Garden dressed in your favorite Faerie or Wizard Costume. Listen to an enchanted storybook reading by a fabulous fairy! Part of Camden Children’s Garden Second & Fourth Weekend Series, held 1:00-4:00pm

 

October 11th & 12th: Mum Madness & Pumpkin Parade

Camden Children’s Garden’s salute to Autumn and our mascot Mum Bear with pumpkin crafts, a pumpkin story and pumpkin activities, all set in the blazing colors of the Garden’s beautiful chrysanthemums. For a small fee, you can purchase and paint a pumpkin to take home (while supplies last). Part of Camden Children’s Garden Second & Fourth Weekend Series, held 1:00-4:00pm

 

October 18th: Brownie Quest Home Science Girl Scout Festival

Explore your skills as a scientist through experiments, combining common foods then observe uncommon reactions. Participants will engage creative science activities. Reservations are required. Cost is $12.00 per Girl Scout (includes 2 ride tokens and one fun patch). Event Runs: 9:30am to 1:30pm.

October 25th & 26th: Goblins In The Garden

Come in costume and have howling good time. Take a Haunted Train Ride; encounter characters throughout the garden, meet the bumbling burglars and have your fortune told. Trick or Treat during the Garden Costume Parade. Celebrate the Mexican tradition of “Día de los Muertos,” a fun and educational activity for the whole family!
